INTRODUCING OUR SPEAKERS:

Bev Smith, Executive Director Kidsports, is a two-time Olympian and former University of Oregon Women’s Basketball Head Coach, Bev Smith has spent her post-playing career creating opportunities for others to compete. Since 2009, she has led Emerald Kidsports, a nonprofit serving 12,000 kids annually — including 4,000 on scholarship — and was a driving force behind raising $30M to build Civic Park in Eugene, where she also serves as Managing Director. An inductee of the Canadian Olympic, Canadian Basketball, and Women’s Basketball Halls of Fame, Bev brings the same competitive drive to community building that she brought to the court.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Ayisha Elliott, Executive and Relational Leadership Coach brings over 25 years of experience challenging systemic inequities through collaborative, relationship-centered approaches. As the content producer of the podcast Black Girl From Eugene, award-winning columnist, and sought-after public speaker, she creates spaces for authentic dialogue about relational leadership approaches, inclusion, and organizational transformation.

Leigh Anne Jasheway, MPH (Master of Public Health/mistress of public humor) is a stress management expert and stand-up/improv comedian. For the past quarter century, she has spoken at 30-40 conferences and workshops every year – most for nonprofit organizations.
Cece Gassner, CEO and Chair of the AJLI Governance Committee joins us for an AJLI update! The AJLI Governance Committee is charged with slating the next leaders for AJLI. She has previously served as a member at-large of the Governance Committee, and has served on the AJLI Board as an at-large member and as Secretary of the Board. She is excited to talk with you about the Association and what it means for you!

Kelly Sutherland, Executive Director of Relief Nursery, Inc., with locations in both Eugene and Springfield, will join NWX to share her expertise in organizational sustainability, financial stewardship, and long-term fundraising strategy. Founded in 1976 as a Junior League of Eugene initiative, Relief Nursery is celebrating 50 years of strengthening families and keeping children safe.  For more than 15 years, Sutherland has guided the organization through significant expansion throughout Lane County and across Oregon. Relief Nursery stands as a powerful example of how Junior League members can identify a critical community need and, through collaboration and visionary leadership, build an enduring, self-sustaining legacy. Sutherland also serves on the Lane Transit District Board of Directors and the Summit Bank Advisory Board, and is a former President of the Eugene Country Club Board of Directors. Widely recognized for her fundraising expertise and nonprofit leadership, she is certain to inspire NWX attendees to elevate their fund development skills and deepen their commitment to community service and collaboration.

Dr. Beth Holt, ND a Scottsdale, Arizona native, brings positive energy, calm expertise, and a patient-centered approach to care. She earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition from Arizona State University in 2012. Shortly after she earned her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (now Sonoran University) in 2017. Dr. Holt will give us the hormone health lesson you don’t even realize you need! She currently practices at Aesthetic Plastic Surgery in Eugene, OR and is passionate about becoming a leader in the aesthetics and wellness industry who is committed to advanced education and safety standards.

Robyn LaVassaur is a wife, mom and originator at heart. Robyn has been in the mortgage industry for over 25 years, serving over 680 families in her last year of production before becoming the EVP of Sales for Summit Funding Inc. She also continues to run the largest branch in volume and units.  People are Robyn’s biggest passion. She has dedicated her life to developing people, team building, growth and creating culture. She is committed to empowering people to make a positive impact on the industry and everyone they interact with. Robyn is equally passionate about her personal life, with a thriving marriage and close relationships with all five of her children. She wants to inspire others to do BOTH, build a beautiful career and a beautiful personal life.
